PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. PRP is prepared by taking a small amount of your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge. The centrifuge separates your blood into red blood cells and PRP. PRP is in the category of regenerative medicine.  The platelets help to build collagen, elastin, utilizing your own growth factors to improve the cosmetic appearance.

At least 3 PRP treatments are recommended spaced one month apart. You will not get the results you want from one. Results generally last for 6-12 months depending on your age and how well your body responds to treatments. Maintenance treatments 1-2 times a year are recommended.

Popular areas to treat: Darkness or hollow under eyes, scars, nasolabial folds or other deep lines

You may have some swelling for 5-7 days (worst on the first few days) following the procedure but that will settle out. It takes a few weeks to see the results following a treatment. Be patient! As always, results vary with each individual.
